In my last post, I started the article discussing some astrology, but really the focus was on the changes of the nodal axis (Leo/Aquarius). However, we just experienced the solar eclipse new moon in Leo.

Eclipses are major because they tend to bring major and sometimes drastic changes/ And when it comes to eclipses, it’s not a day one experience. We usually get a solar eclipse followed by a lunar eclipse within a two week period. So this eclipse season is between Leo and Pisces.

Not to get too technical, but eclipses are always connected to previous full and new moons. They tend to close chapters and start new ones, but on steroids.

I’ve had this post sitting in my drafts for two months, and now that the South Node (which represents your past, ingrained habits, natural talents, and comfort zones) is in Leo, and this week’s eclipse is happening in Leo, it felt like the right time to finally share it. The North Node (a mathematical point representing your soul’s true purpose, destiny, and future growth) is in Aquarius, the sign of the collective, of authenticity over performance. So this whole eclipse season feels like it’s pulling us out of individual spotlight-chasing and into something more real.

The homeless epidemic in Los Angeles is hard to ignore. I’ve been volunteering at soup kitchens since I lived in New York City. I even taught cooking classes at shelters, and I try to make time to do the same here in LA. While the other volunteers network with each other, I always make it a point to talk to the clients at the shelters. There was an overarching theme I kept hearing. This particular situation has been a thorn in my side. It annoys the fuck out of me. I hate this so much and I deal with it all the time, whether it’s through friends, family, lovers, or associates. It’s a constant theme in my life. I am noticing it’s becoming a bigger problem, especially with social media and the lack of originality and people’s lack of direction. So I did this thing. I wrote and executive produced an album and since it’s on SoundCloud, technically it’s a mixtape?

When I wrote the album I had no intentions of it becoming an album. I was inspired by the instrumentals and one thing led to another and now I have recorded over 20 tracks. The first song that triggered this event was Track 5, “One.” When I first heard the instrumental, the hook that was repetitive in my mind was “Riding down the 101 thinking you’re the one.” I kept hearing that phrase in my head.
